I’m kinda addicted to doing random acts of kindness, and try to encourage my kids to do it too, because to me, there’s no better gift than seeing someone smile because they were on the receiving end. I fall hook, line, and sinker to all that random acts of kindness stand for; faith in humanity, warm fuzzies, tears of joy, etc. Nobody who is on the receiving or giving end of a random act of kindness goes untouched, no matter how big or small. So it’s no wonder that the following event from The Arc of New Mexico (one of ReUseIt’s non-profit partners), caught my eye.
Tag! You’re It!
The Arc of New Mexico in collaboration with the World Down Syndrome Day 2015 is launching a “Random Acts of Kindness” movement to celebrate people with Down syndrome, and spread a little love and kindness in the name of Down syndrome!
Just choose an act of kindness, record it and tag someone else to do the same!
Email the recording to Carmen Garcia at [email protected]
The recording will be posted on The Arc of New Mexico Facebook page.
How awesome is that? This is just one of the many reasons I love donating my usable household goods to a ReUseIt donation center; because your donations translate directly into funding for organizations that are making a big difference in your local community. In fact, ReUseIt has raised nearly $2-million dollars over the past two years for non-profit organizations. For a full list of ReUseIt’s non-profit partners, click here.
So what’s your random act of kindness going to be? It can be as simple as dropping off a bag full of gently used clothing, to smiling to a stranger on the street. I know what mine is. Remember to take note of how you feel once you’ve done your act. If it’s anything like how I feel, it’s gonna be good!

ReUseIt has many local non-profit partners they raise money for. One of which is The Arc of New Mexico.
