National Volunteer Week - Are You Ready to Make a Difference?

There’s still time left to take part in National Volunteer Week, which officially runs from April 12th-18th this year.

Want to participate, but don’t know where to volunteer your time, or overwhelmed by all the choices? Let me see if I can help.

ReUseIt is a proud partner to many non-profit organizations who offer many volunteer opportunities. Check out the list below, click on the links provided, and see if any of the opportunities light a spark within you.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay offers many volunteer opportunities from being a mentor to an at risk youth, to participating in events such as Bowl For Kids’ Sake.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area also offers many volunteer opportunities such as becoming a mentor, to fun events like Coasting for Kids’ Sake.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Greater Sacramento Area again offers many mentoring opportunities as well as having the option to simply donate funds to assist their organization’s efforts.

The following ARC organizations offer individual volunteer, group volunteer, or skilled volunteering opportunities, as well as upcoming fundraising events:

The Arc of San Francisco

The Arc of Texas

The Arc of New Mexico

Las Trampas has many volunteer options available as well, either by donating money to help support the organization in general, or being a part of their “Be An Angel” project.

None of the above seem to fit within your schedule? You can simply clean out your closets and donate the usable items to a ReUseIt Donation Center near you, or check out ReUseIt.org’s event’s page to see if there’s a school, or other local non-profit organization in your area currently running a ReUseIt sponsored donation drive!

Remember, big or small, whatever time you give to your community, know you’re making a difference. Added perk, people who volunteer are found to be 42% happier than those who don’t!

Who knows, you may like it so much, you’ll continue volunteering post April 18th!
