Job Summary
The Donation Station Attendant/Driver helper is responsible for maintaining an uninterrupted supply of donations by receiving and stacking donations brought into the store via walk-in traffic, on the Donor Services Trucks or through the stand alone Donation Box; and depending on the donation method, provides receipts for donated material. This position will maintains a neat, attractive, and safe donation area.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
• Ensure that donation stations, boxes and trucks are clean and orderly before, during and at the end of each shift.
• Follow all established safety policies. Maintain a safe environment by working in a safe manner, reporting all hazards and unsafe work practices.
• Ensure that all donations are collected and received, weighed and tracked.
• Properly handle heavy, bulky or delicate items to avoid breakage, muscle strain or injury.
• Assist transport trucks with tie-down straps, ropes and hand rails so that all materials can be carried, stacked and transported in a safe manner.
Working Conditions
• Frequent work in all outside weather conditions.
• Working in a warehouse, on a retail floor and in the back room of a thrift store partner.
• Frequent in-house and external contact with store employees, truck drivers, volunteers, vendors, contractors, etc.
• May be required to work weekends and evenings, as the job requires.
Qualifications
• Ability to work in a rapidly paced logistics/transportation/production environment with assigned quotas that must be met.
• Must have good communications skills and be able to read/write fluently in English.
• Ability to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must possess strong customer service skills
