Job Summary
The Donor Service/Warehouse Supervisor directs and coordinates the pick-up of rags, E-waste, books and shoots from the stores, as well as, all general office/service activities including personnel, route pick-up, route efficiency, public relations, time keeping, A/P and inventory. The goal is to maintain a consistent and uninterrupted supply of donations through the maintenance of a household recycling and pick-up program that provides the best possible customer service to donors with a maximum utilization of labor and equipment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide effective staff and truck drivers that understand and are capable of meeting non-profit production standards.
• Schedule mailer routes in a timely manner to insure that donors receive cards one week before pick-up day.
• Provide adequate telephone coverage regarding: pick-up requests, priority pick-ups, types of merchandise accepted or rejected, missed pick-ups, incorrect addresses, mishandled merchandise, customer/donor complaints, and driver call-ins.
• Manage and coordinate warehouse activities to company standards.
• Review and enforce all policies and guidelines, providing coaching, counseling, disciplining and terminating employees as necessary.
• Ensure that all staff members are trained in organizational safety procedures and guidelines.regulations.
Working Conditions
• Occasional work in all outside weather conditions.
• Working in a warehouse, on a retail floor and in the back room of a thrift store partner.
• Frequent in-house and external contact with store employees, truck drivers, volunteers, vendors, contractors, etc..
• Occasional travel both in and out of state.
Qualifications
• Previous supervisory work experience related to transportation logistics, warehouse management and/or customer service desired but not required.
• Must have good communications skills and be able to read/write fluently in English.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must have a personal vehicle in safe operating condition with proof of current basic liability insurance and vehicle registration.
• Ability to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
